Received my Manual throttle assembly from 914 Rubber and it looks great! But no specific instruction regarding the “Shark Fin” and I have not seen a real one up close. I understand where and how the lever and rod go that's no problem.
Did some poking around here on the site (IMG:style_emoticons/default/type.gif) where I thought I might see pictures but I did not see the small “shark fin” and how and where exactly it goes on the gas pedal. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) Does anybody have a good picture of the "Shark Fin" installed either real original 914-6 or 914 Rubber version? Of course I had just got all the pedal cables hooked up and adjusted when I received the assembly not understanding how the hand throttle actually worked. I’m thinking the whole pedal assembly has to come out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) “Shark Fin” is on the far left. Thanks! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/white914.jpg) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/white914.jpg) Jim,good description of the shape (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ,I mounted this plate with one bolt and moved it once till contact with the rod ,the bolt out and plug welded the hole . Every "6" on carbs should have one of these ,very handy for quick start up,I do 2-3 pumps on the pedal with the lever on full travel, mine starts straight up. |

Can't take credit for the term "Shark Fin" it came from Scott at 914 Rubber when I called looking for help. Plan to do the same as you on install. Thanks for chiming in.
