I recently picked up this 'cheap-ish' battery tester. Man, I wish I'd had it a long time ago. Works in and out of the car, in the car it also analyzes starter load and alternator output. Great little tool. It's not a bad price, it's small, and from the various batteries I tested around the shop, it worked quite well.

I've been using the Griot's Garage tester for the past 15 years; great diagnostic tool, especially if you have a car that not driven a lot.

Griots has them on sale for $69, from $99
