I think I have covered the most common Fuchs wheel size combos for a GT tribute or clone. This would be for aggressive street and possibly light track use. Pick a wheel size combo that you think looks best in your opinion. Then list your reasons ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
BTW I am certain most have seen this article on Eric Shea's GT: http://www.retromodmag.com/features/porsche-914-6-gt Edit: please post pics to further illustrate your preference! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Hi guys, I'll be running 8 & 9" x 16" Fuchs on a car with GT flares and need to decide on tire sizes. Would 225/50 (front) and 245/50 (rear) look nice? I'm also considering 225/45 and 245/50, but I'm not sure how that would look. Appreciate any guidance and thoughts. Thanks! 8 & 9 x 16 are under serious consideration with me as well. If I were to go that wheel size, I would do 225/45-16 front and 245/45-16 rear. This would make the front a tiny bit smaller in diameter than the rear. More pics! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) gothspeed, Are all of the cars in the pics running 225/45-16 front and 245/45-16 rear? If so, that's what I'm going with! |

If so, that's what I'm going with! but now im considering going 7 & 8 x 15" wheels with 205/50-15 front and 225/50-15 rear tires, like the green car above ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) from another post: eric shea's tire size mentioned here: ............................. Yep aware of the aspect ratio....trying for the basic stock diameter target of approx 25" I "talked" to Eric Shea and he is using 195/65/15 F and 215/60/15 R on his beautiful yellow 914-6 GT...this was mainly because he had some 7/8x15 Fuchs with tires on them from a 911 and they worked and no added extra expense....I'm all for that. ............................ Glenn Stazak told me this blau metallic. I love it. It's what color I am going to paint my GT car. ........ gothspeed.....thanks for the pictures... do you know what #64 (blau metallic) has for it's wheel tire set-up Thanks...John I tried to zoom into the pic (#64 blau) and numbers looked like a 195/50r-15 in front but the picture was very pixeled and I cannot say for sure. they look much larger than 195/50r-15. More like maximum tire size for those wheels widths ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) EDIT: now knowing those tires are some euro size designation. I zoomed in again and the rears are definitely: 23/62 R15 and the front "appear" to be 16/60 R15 someone else can chime in about euro tire sizes. I thought the normal 205/50-15 was a metric designation (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) |
