I think I have covered the most common Fuchs wheel size combos for a GT tribute or clone. This would be for aggressive street and possibly light track use. Pick a wheel size combo that you think looks best in your opinion. Then list your reasons ... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
BTW I am certain most have seen this article on Eric Shea's GT: http://www.retromodmag.com/features/porsche-914-6-gt Edit: please post pics to further illustrate your preference! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Orange one is chris's/campbellcj car Hi all, On my Phoenix Red racecar #673 above, the tires I'm currently using are: Hoosier Circuit Racing Radial Slick, S80 compound P/N 43558 215/580R15 Front P/N 43568 245/580R15 Rear Previously I used the Hoosier R6 in 225 Front and 245 Rear. I wanted to jam a 255 or 275 in back, but they wouldn't clear. Before that it was a narrowbody car and I ran whatever Hoosier Rx flavor was current at the time, in a square 205 front/rear setup on 15x7's. The rear fender lips were rolled and slightly pulled for clearance back then. |

Thanks for posting tire sizes. I looked those up and dimensions are as follows: Front: Tire Size 215/580R15 Tread Pattern bb - Slick Tread Width 8.6" Approximate Diameter 22.9" Rear: Tire Size 245/580R15 Tread Pattern bb - Slick Tread Width 9.4" Approximate Diameter 22.9" They 'appear' larger diameter in your pics but well balanced none the less. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Here is a flared -6 with what looks like 8s x 15 all the way around (tires are 225/50-15) Bear in mind that 'section width' is critical in terms of body clearance as well as appearance. These Hoosiers are actually just about 10" wide at the largest point, when mounted on 8's/9's. The Hoosier R6/R7 DOT tires also are particularly known for having a wider section width than most other tires of a similar stated spec/size. |
