These finishing touches are driving me nuts. The rubber strap broke. What are people doing for a replacement besides a pice of nylon cord, rope or leather strap?

Does yours have two straps? I bought replacements through Stoddard a few years ago. Hope they haven't gone "NLA" like the 72 door end caps . . . .
