Looking for my build date for the six. 9140432481. Anyone close to this with an accurate date? I know that Porsche built out of order sometimes on Vin numbers...Newer COA's aren't worth the paper they are printed on anymore. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) I'm just curious to see if a couple of you are really close I could get a reasonable guess.

So this is the info on your GT? correct sequence numbering been discussed before - perhaps in originality section - also a discussion about how many were built per day, iirc say 0919 or 0920 begins the March prod'n, then 2602-0919 ~ 1683 cars in 4 months, or 1683cars/80 days ~ 20+/- cars/day build rate ?? Andy is the resident source on factory ops - so perhaps he has a better estimate since 2240 is a June build, and 2347, 2318, 2486 are also June builds - and 2602 is July, that suggests they built at least 2602-2240 ~ 60 cars or more in June '70 ` per above calc should be more like 20cars x 20days ~ 400 cars in June alone but 400/month ~ 4000++ per yr - and they only made 3360 in 3 yrs - so something doesn't work in this calculation perhaps they pumped out a batch initially & then when they didn't sell, cut back production substantially?? |
