Starting my 5 lug conversion. Just got the struts back from powder coating. Was trial fitting the caps on the strut and was wondering if the caps were raw steel (doubtful), plated or painted? These have sat in my stash for a long time. Can’t really tell if they were sandblasted and this is patina? Or if it’s playing?
Someone told me new ones come with the shock insert which may make this a mute point. Anyone know? Attached image(s) |

Mine were painted and I think they were untouched as far as coating.
