So I have 72 914 worth a 1.7 in it and I’m having a big problem. What I thought would be a new wheel bearings or hub is turning into some serious work. I thought this car was rust free but apparently there is some hidden cancer. Please let me know any thoughts of how to fix this.

Two options:
Grab the snake right behind the head and cut it off. Or get a new tub. I am going to say cancer runs deep on that side, and once in it, will be console, logs, and a lot more unfortunately. But you don't know until you open it up. And see just how far it goes. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) this is the end of where the rust started (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) . Certainly not an easy fix, depends on the OP's bodywork skills. |
