Books... for the 914 Enthusiast

Here is a list of books that will keep you company in the garage when the car is on jackstands, or on those long winter nights when 914 driving is impossible:

a. Porsche 914 Shop Manual, Lash International (formerly published by Clymer).
b. Haynes Porsche 914 Automotive Repair Manual, Haynes Publishing
c. Pelican Parts compact disk
d. How to Keep Your Air-cooled VW Alive
e. How to Restore and Modify Your Porsche 914, Patrick Paternie
f. 914 Tech Tips 700, by George Hussey of Auto Atlanta
g. Porsche 911 Performance Handbook, by Bruce Anderson (for you 914-6 fans)
h. How to Rebuild Your Air-cooled Volkswagen Engine, by Tom Wilson
i. Factory Workshop Manuals. Available on microfiche for ~$35.00, or hard copy for several hundred dollars.
j. Factory Parts Manuals. Also available on microfiche or hard copy.
k. Weber Carburetor Owners Workshop Manual, by Haynes
l. Porsche Specifications Book. I've heard rumors that this may be out of print.
m. How to Make Your Car Handle, Fred Puhn.
n. Bosch Fuel Injection and Engine Management, by Charles O. Probst
o. How to Tune and Modify Bosch Fuel Injection, by Ben Watson.
p. How to Rebuild and Modify Porsche 911 Engines (65-89), by Wayne Dempsey

I just read this one:
https://www.pca.org/news/2020-05-01/book-re...ars-porsche-914 ( 50 years Porsche 914)

Shared more info regarding development and the VW/Porsche relationship at that time and its impact on how the car was developed than I recall reading elsewhere.
