If anyone here that may be able to reproduce these baby's it would be a bonus for all the 914 owners. If so, let me know and I will trace these out and send you the tracings of the liners. The pictures are of the rear well liners. Let me know so I can trace these out and get them off before I install these. I'm only going to put liners in the rear wells since I have oil lines in the pass. side front I won't be installing the front liners on my car. The rear liners are going in. The are made of a flexable plastic with clips on each for install. They bolt on to the car where the rear valance meets the wheel well and other side connects where the rocker panel meets the well. Very simple install process, the clips that hold them are pop riveted on to the liners.

I find it "extremely" hard to believe that one could patent a fender well liner. Sounds like a bluff but... what the hell do I know? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif)
Also, I haven't seen them marketed anywhere... who's selling them? Partswerks? If you think it's "stealing" then get some single ply cardboard from a art supply store and start over. It would probably take 2 hours to come up with a better design. Also, the ones I saw were out of a high impact plastic. I think it would be noisey as described above. I think a softer compound might give that VW effect of being quieter. Mark... change the mounting clip and make it better. Then get them to the market. I think they would do quite a bit of good. The application could save: Longitudinals - Mud gets slung from the wheel and gets up behind the outer rocker, packs in and rusts. Lower Sail Panels - As above. Door Handle - As above. Front Fender Jam - As above. Six oil tanks - As above. |
