On my wiper switch there are 5 wires. Black, Brown, Green, Black/White, Black/Green
The black wire (behind the brown) mates to a brown/black wire on the main harness which isn't used. It was capped off and taped into the body of the harness right at the wiper motor. My wiring harness is a 1973. Testing for continuity between the black and the ground I get tone when I pull the wiper switch forward. I also get continuity on the black/white wire which connects to a red/black wire to the wiper motor. Can I use the black/brown to power an electric washer pump? Thanks. George |

Thank you Sixer.
I've been researching and reading and it looks like if I get a 6 pole wiper switch, I will need to run a wire from the switch to the washer pump. Since my wiring harness is out of the car, now would be the time. I'm assuming a few things: 1. I can share the wiper motor's ground wire for the washer pump. 2. I can run the wire directly (without going through the fuse box) 3. I will need an intermittent harness (and relay). Please let me know if I've got that right. Thanks. George |
