Here is the company that sells the paint-on chrome system. I really think it's a great alternative with lots of flexibility.

I would like to get together a few people to split the cost and do a test batch. It's about $2000 for all the equipment. What Brandon and I are thinking is that we will do all the labor for free and anyone who wants to get in will split the cost of the machine. So if 5 people want in, it would be $400 each person to do their front and rear bumpers. The cores do not need to be perfect in any way. That would be $200 for each bumper if we can get 5 people. If you're seriously interested, PM me and we'll see if we can put something together.
