Father's Signal Orange 914 2.0 with 88,000 original miles is now mine! A few details: No mechanical faults. Black interior, Non-appearance group but with center console and gauges, lowered with Koni shocks, "2 Litre" Fuchs wheels and new 195/65-15 Pirelli P6000 tires. Otherwise stock and very clean. No rust too! Porsche has been in dry storage in Palo Alto for 16 years. Last DMV registration was 1988 - so long ago that the VIN dropped off the DMV records! Now re-registered in my name. New home will be Sunnyvale. I'll post a few pics when the car is running again. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving.gif)

Congrats
I also obtained a car last year that had not been registered since '88. But it sat outside in a storage yard most of that that time. One of the issue you will probably face from that long storage is hardened seals and leaky hoses from things like fuel injection system and pushrod tubes, brakes, master cylinder, oil cooler. With the help of this site I have replaced all of those items relatively easily this year. Do a search when you start to have issues and you will be amazed at the detailed information you will find. Enjoy the ride. |
