Hi there, I am looking for a good used or new-condition windshield for my 914/6GT project. In the SoCal area (LA, SD, etc.) for pickup. Not looking for something with deep scratches, hazing, etc.
Thanks!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |

I bought my windshield glass from a local Porsche dealer.
I went to 3 local Porsche dealers - the same Porsche 914 windshield varied quite a bit from each dealer ($600-$975). I bought the lowest priced at $600. That dealer told me they didn't install windshields on older air cooled Porsches (they told me they outsourced that work to an old school glass guy (too much of a specialty). So I asked for his contact info and they happily shared. He quoted me $150 to pick up the glass from the dealer and install it at my place. Took all the risk out of it. He used the butyl, butyl printer, and windshield gasket I bought from 914 Rubber for approx. $75 (I didn't want to go with the chrome trim and clips). So in the end ... new Porsche glass installed for approx. $800 total. |
