I bought this BB on BAT after throwing out a bid double the previous one last August. I didn't think it would be enough but.......woops, I bought a car. I've been pleased with the condition of the car and connected with two long term owners, one who did the restoration in roughly 2010. They have been great to talk to and added to my comfort level with what I have.

I've just started a list of projects to refresh the car a bit as it has sat for a long time and some things are just not quite right. One of the big discussions during the auction was how bad the rocker stripe looked. Too tall, not the right letter height/spacing, etc. I bought a replacement on 914 Rubber and started to remove the existing one. Heat gun on lowest setting. All was going well until the last bit and I pulled some paint. S&*( (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

I have not lined up the new stripe. I'm hoping I can rattle can this area and cover it wit the new one. Ugh!

Any other thoughts?

The other project today went a bit better. The driver side door striker post was loose. I removed it, cleaned it up and tacked a weld on the back side. Door closes and opens fine now.

Concur with both above. Paint should not have pulled off under any conditions... and let a pro spot it in correctly. It will be undetectable... No rattle can touch ups!
