Doing a complete paint job. Should I preserve the original sticker or replace? Where should I get the replacement?

@Van B
here is mine. OG factory. its in pretty good nick. yes it is glossy. it has all the circles in it but i would have to take photo out in sunlight for them to be visible. thing is @dr914 @autoatlanta.com has a pretty good repro, but the one on his website listed is not quite exact for a 74. you can see the 74 has TYPE PASSENGER CAR as the separate top line. you could email him and ask if he has this correct one for our 74s or perhaps he will come back and comment to clarify what he has in stock. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) pity about carbone. i wonder who cracked down on them over the stickers. it cannot have been porsche as VW also used these stickers. or was it porsche. interesting anyway that copyrght is being enacted on something that is now 50 years ago. i wonder if copyright holds that long. i did not think it did. i'm wondering if it is porsche and carbone are getting a bit confused because our vin stickers have no mention of porsche on them. its a VW vin sticker. the bit that it is possible that porsche could enact copyrght on is the Dr. Ing Porsche etc part that is on the 911 vin stickers. |
