What do y'all use for engine stands??? / bracket??? I like the one from VW alley but can't seem to find any source. Seen some nice ones for $600 bucks but that's not in the budget. The 2 eared ones don't seem they would provide enough support. Thanks for the help.

The stand or the cradle or both? There is a guy an Samba that sells a cradle he makes, for 4s, 6s or both. You can discuss with him.. You will need to match the yoke diameter size to the engine stand size as they vary by the weight capacity of the stand.

I bought a 4-arm yoke engine mount for our 356 engine and put it on a harbor freight stand. Then I got gifted a running engine stand with a starter ring and control box from Zalex Industries. After assembly, I transferred the engine to this. FWIW - Zalex is Tom Perazzo of Garage Time YouTube channel. He's good folk. |
