You’ll be pleased when the Haynes shows up. The correct orientation of the ‘brake light switch arm’ is shown on P 129 and the adjustment is described. Remove the carpeting that is not glued in. Why fight with it? The master cyl switch is a low brake pressure warning light. Not to be confused with the actual brake light switch.
