Just had to chase a guy away who without asking was out on our lot opening all of the doors, decklids, and sitting in our customers' 914s! Our dear accountant witnessed the abuse from her office perspective and reported it to us. Pretty bad when someone has no respect for other peoples' property! We deeply respect our customers' cars and take good care of them while they are here for service and restoration, and do not tolerate those who come on the lot and disrespect them. Guy started to say how he owned a 914 years ago etc etc etc, but I did not want to hear it!

This is completely unacceptable to me. I was brought up in a car family, and was going to swap meets and car shows from an early age. I learned real quick I could look, and say anything, ask any question, or make any comment. But I was taught to keep my hands linked behind my back so there was no possible way I could touch anything. I still do this to this day.
We were at the 24 hours of Daytona the year Patrick Dempsey had his Lola P2 car in the race. It was on the grid with all the other cars so the spectators could see it. When they went to start it for the race, it wouldn't start. Some spectator had turned the electrical cutoff switch off. They almost didn't make the race because of it. I am always happy to let young kids sit in our 914s when we have them at shows. Gotta get them hooked young so the 914 doesn't die. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) But I am always standing there and give permission. If the kid is touching the car without permission, I will not let them sit in it. |
