Hello All,
I've got a 3.0 six conversion that has a 901 in it. I'm uncertain what approach was used for the five lug conversion. I found one bolt snapped off on the passenger side, and when I removed it found that the tip was still in the flange. The broken bolt also appears to be a course thread. Two questions: 1) Is the flange supposed to be fine or course thread? I'm thinking that the correct hardware is an M8 x 45, with fine thread. 2) I can't see the part numbers on the flange because I don't have a lift, and the cast numbers are on the transaxle side. Any other ways to identify the approach that was used for the five lug conversion quickly? (914, 911, 944). Thanks for any help! Todd |

The CV's do not need to be changed for a 5 lug conversion. Looks like you still have the 914 CV's and bolts. You may need to remove the output flange from the trans to remove the broken bolt. There is one bolt in the center of the flange butied under the grease. I think it had a 15mm head.
I would replace all the bolts on tgat cv and re-torque all the others. |
