Just noticed this from diyautotune.com
A MS PRO mini... https://www.diyautotune.com/product/the-ms3...-mini-ecu-only/ That is a KICK ASS little ECU that has long term fuel trims, VVT support, E/85 support and a bunch of higher-level ECU functions for $600! This should work great on any 4 cylinder. On a 4 it is sequential fuel/COP spark. You can run waste spark on a 6-8 and sequential on up to 8 injectors. It's got abilities that a T4 will never need but at that price point I don't think it can be beat. Had it been available when I bought my M3X P+P (MSM Miata) from them I would have gone Pro mini. I'd have saved $500... |

Totally agree with Greg. DIY Autotune is a great company and their products have come a long way over the last 20 years. Though I do wish they chose some slightly better components on the Microsquirt. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
The Pro Mini looks really really cool. I also would have gone with this over an MS3. |

DIY Autotune is a great company and their products have come a long way over the last 20 years. I became familiar with them in the early- to mid-00s when I was racing an SR20DE-powered NX2000 and we were using this ECU called "Calumsult", where a friend (Calum) had chipped the stock ECU and installed on-board USB connectivity (a big thing back, then instead of having to pull the chip and use a Moates board to burn changes). I didn't know j-shat about tuning and was heading down to Road Atlanta, these guys invited me in to help tune the car and we won that championship race... I talked 'em into building a PnP for the SR20DE (second one ever, as I recall, right behind the NA Miata) and I ran that and began to learn tuning...and the rest, as they say... I think the original family has sold the biz but their service and support have continued to be excellent even since. - GA |

His 'real-time' ECUs were all the rage as I recall. My friend had one on a SR20 in a B13 Sentra. Also cool is you talking them into making a PnP. Maybe even cooler! |

You know Calum? That's pretty cool. His 'real-time' ECUs were all the rage as I recall. My friend had one on a SR20 in a B13 Sentra. Hell, I'm pretty sure I've slept with him! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) He and a mutual buddy Kevin Hart visited up here in CT during the NX2000 days and stayed at my house as we tried to figure out tuning the race car. Both were valuable to our success in that egg. QUOTE Also cool is you talking them into making a PnP. Maybe even cooler! That part was easy: I just showed them the SR20DE forums and how much enthusiasm there was for these cars within that community. I was a big part of that at the time. Still have a very big soft spot for the SR20DE (and VE) engines. https://kakashiracing.com/ https://kakashiracing.com/racing_resume.htm Haven't heard from Calum in years, I hope he's doing great. - Greg |
