I use to run amsoil z rod and I liked it but very expensive
Currently running vr1 but I keep hearing about driven . Driven is also expensive. Is it over thinking this for driving a few thousand miles a year and changing every season? |

Mobil 1 euro at Walmart 28 dollars. 5.60 a quart. Vr1 may be worth a 1.20 more. I kinda like Mobil 1 but for no good reason.

I talked to a local engine builder, he recommended staying away from synthetic for the flat six, says they were designed for Dino Oil. I did notice on my fresh motor my max hot oil pressure was a bit lower when I tried mobil 1, I'm using VR1 and like it so far cheaper in the 5 qt jug. I also tried Penn Grade once, just seemed very thick and expensive, car ran a little hotter too; I think the engine builder was fond of Penn Grade and VR1. |
