3.0 engine for sale. Was rebuilt in the early 2000’s but at some point, the car sat outside for a long period of time. We fired it up on the engine stand and it’s running well. I will eventually load the video onto YouTube but you can email or text if you want to see proof of life. The engine comes without exhaust (we need the headers for our test stand runs). Other than that, it seems to be a good running engine with a rebuild history. I would plan on rebuilding the wur and fd. That’s pretty normal to do on cis but in the mean time, everything works.
$14,500 - PM me or email - Mark@MarkEpstein.net I can ship to your door for the cost of shipping. Usually $250-550 depending on location. Sorry, photos got jumbled during upload. Attached thumbnail(s) Attached image(s) |

Dion had cis on his type 4 build and it looked and ran really good. I’m pretty sure parts came off a VW.
3.0 cis engine is good for 175-180hp but a real favorite if you plan to hot rod it. I believe it was the same engine case as the turbo. |

I believe it was the same engine case as the turbo. I put 964 cams, headers and weber 40's on my 3.0 (otherwise stock '81), I think it was about 230hp, I talked to someone that dynoed and early large valve 3.0 with 46mm webers he claimed 260hp. They can get over 300hp with some good parts. But more than anything the webers make awesome throttle response. |
