"Oh you like cars? Want a project?"
. . . and so it begins Sitting in a sort of covered shed for 28 years in North Idaho. 1.8 Motor is locked solid. The starter did try. We also tried to drag it in 5th gear. Front calipers are locked. Rust in the usual places, but the rust does not seem as bad as many I have seen. Floors are solid. All the rubber seals seem to be perished. ~30 years old KYB Struts! We will be tearing it completely down. Fixing the body and then putting it back together one system at a time. Please bare with me as I ask stupid questions. Mine was in similar condition when I drug it home. Time, patience and a little cabbage….
Many experienced members of this group (including yours truly) that have been in your shoes that are willing to help. Pull the plugs, add some rust penetrating oil of your choice. After a few days rock the car back and forth in second gear. |

After a few days rock the car back and forth in second gear. Yeah, we did that. Gave it week of pulling the plugs everyday and spraying each cylinder. Then we tugged it with the Ranger in 5th on dirt. Wheels were still locked after ~3ft so we left it at that and will pull the motor. |
