"Oh you like cars? Want a project?"
. . . and so it begins Sitting in a sort of covered shed for 28 years in North Idaho. 1.8 Motor is locked solid. The starter did try. We also tried to drag it in 5th gear. Front calipers are locked. Rust in the usual places, but the rust does not seem as bad as many I have seen. Floors are solid. All the rubber seals seem to be perished. ~30 years old KYB Struts! We will be tearing it completely down. Fixing the body and then putting it back together one system at a time. Please bare with me as I ask stupid questions. a lot of welding work ahead of you.
just an observation from decades of watching these projects and doing some of them myself..... many people throw in the towel during the welding phase and the project gets sidelined over time... probably best to tackle the thousands of dollars of welding and replacement panels before worrying much about the simpler things like interior and motor. |
