My dad was looking at a 997 with a PDK and I did a deep dive into PDK issues.
They are really tough but... If you do have a problem, it looked like the ONLY solution was to have the dealer install a rebuilt transmission. ZF has release NO parts and no service data. It looked like ZF does not allow the dealerships to do anything but replace the trannys... 20K looked like the START of the prices! This was a couple of years back. Now it looks like a few folks are trying to repair them but that was a road I did not want to head down. Current suggestions are 30K fluid changes and if I was looking at a car with that mileage I would want to see 3 fluid changes at a minimum. The 6 speed in the same year (2010) appeared bomb proof but you got a $$$ clutch change with it as a maintenance point. It also appeared that a PDK equipped car was much less likely to be "over-revved" so there was good along with the bad... |
