Guys,
I have a period Blaupunkt Frankfurt, as well as two cheapie 4X6 speakers that I want to put into my 914. I have the correct faceplate as well. Bunch of questions, and please pardon my ignorance. I've never done any wiring at all. Ever. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) What gauge wire do you recommend for the speakers? What kind of connectors do I need? Where do I get the power for the radio? What do I mount the radio to in order to support it? Any other recommendations? Thanks in advance, and again, pardon my ignorance. Brent |

My parts car came with a motorola sapphire with plastic face plate. It had been removed from the car and wires cut (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif). I'd like to bench test it to see if it works. According to the diagram in this thread there should be a ground wire coming out of it. Maybe they just left it off and assumed the bracket to the firewall grounded it... I guess I can just add a connection under one of the screws on the unit. I assume the red wire is for power. There are two brown wires coming out of it, which must be for the speakers. According to the diagram the speaker wires went to a connector. Would there be only two wires coming out of the unit and then splitting into 4 (2 going to each speaker as shown in the diagram) at the connector? Here are some pics:
