(IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) The “Messerschmitt” themed car is Dave McKenna’s. Great guy and great car. He did all the work himself and it attracts attention everywhere, as you can imagine! (He is too humble to brag about it himself, but it is a group favorite!!) You need to jump the water and join us. There are plenty of seats to ride. |

He's texted me pics of this car multiple times from different shows....I think one was outside of Bristol. |

He's texted me pics of this car multiple times from different shows....I think one was outside of Bristol. that car is a homage to just about my favourite object in the world. we have this survivor up in the war museum in canberra. it is the ONLY bf 109 in original untouched condition left. straight from the eastern front. bullet holes. bolted on replacement wing in the wrong color. we got it as a war prize, and it just got left alone. no one was tempted to restore it or mess with it. try as they might a restorer could never replicate the desperation of the original paint job. its a bit like a 914. stenciled painted numbers in odd places, a bit of german war time industrial process survived in the VW and porsche production line? if you ever go to australia, go to the war museum in canberra. there is an me 262 and a 163 there as well. the other war prizes. similar condition to the 109. thread hijack over. pardon the excursion. back to german beer festival 914s.
