I don't think anyone has asked this yet....
Why do you want to do it? I have been driving and working on 914s for almost 40 years, and it has never bothered me that the steering wheel and seating position is a little off center from the direction of travel. Just my opinion, it seems like a LOT of work to fix something that is almost unnoticeable and doesn't detract from the driving experience. Hell, I didn't know about it for years. Not until I saw a blueprint drawing and noticed the steering wheel was off center. The reason it was done was to clear the wheel well, so you have to move the seat inboard or you are going to have twisted legs the whole time you are driving. And how are you going to deal with the fact that the pedals are angled to match the steering wheel and seat? To fix them would require a lot of work to the mount point for the master cylinder. All I can say is good luck. Clay |
