so..............
you reckon a 914 is uncomfortably non centred in its general arrangement. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) check out a right hand drive VW 411.  the boys over at VW styling central back in the late 60s same time as the porsche guys were wrestling with ergonomics and errant wheel wells came up with this reconciliation of diverse requirements. lets centre the steering wheel and seat on the dashboard, lets make the steering column go straight forward because we don't have one of those delicious 911 steering racks and bugger it, the pedals can go where they fit. believe me its even worse right hand drive than left hand drive. i reckon i still have a twisted back from my years driving my type 3. i count my lucky stars i never owned a type 4 and VW australia wisely decided this was a bridge too far. i challenge anyone to adjust one of these to get a symmetrical driving position.
