I don't have anything in front of me, but I do remember that in 76 there was one more 914-6 built by the factory. They pulled a 4 cylinder chassis from the line and put all the six parts on it. It may have been a special wish car. I think it is the only factory six with the big ugly bumpers.
So the one you list may be the last official factory six, but it may not be the actual last factory six. |

It was not part of the official 914-6 run and should really not be mentioned in any 914-6 production discussion. And it's a '75 with the m471 kit. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif) I would disagree on it not being an "official 914-6". It was built by Porsche as a 914-6 at the factory. So that makes it a real six. Unlike my 73 conversion, it was never sold or titled as a four. But we are splitting hairs here. I am sure that if I gave them enough money, Porsche would build a brand new 914-6 for me today. And being factory built, it would be a real 914-6. Kinda like the continuation production of the 65 Shelby Cobra 427 they are still building today. |
