As a side note for those who care, this is actually a late-early handbrake. The plastic grip portion has finger indentations. The early-early handbrake grip was slightly shorter and smooth.

Just went out to check my March 1970 -6 and it does have the finger indentations. Not sure what I was thinking. I did discover a slight variation though. The spring clip on mine broke so it wouldn't latch up. Bought a replacement rod from Garrold about a month ago. The rod and spring he sent me were about 1/4" longer than my original. It works just fine, just interesting about the difference.  |
