Hello!
As the owner of a '72 914-4, one of my favorite YouTube videos is this great walkaround of a 1972 914-4 with the appearance package; nearly the exact same car as mine, but lovingly kept in great shape by a single owner (Rex) who is in the video. https://youtu.be/0mS1WNll3hs?si=IGaHmZj94I2Kff7t I'm curious about the firewall at the back of the engine compartment. What is mounted and wired there? My '72 does not have this, and I don't see it in the Johnson/Hussey book on authenticity. Thanks! Steve P.S. Isn't Rex's car cool? |

That's aftermarket...
Don't know what it is. VR? Ignition box? Something that needs a large heat sink??? Neither car has the firewall insulation pad and both cars have exquisite firewalls! |
