I could up my post count but I decided to post in one thread and let them fly.
1. One of my cars did not have door vapor barriers when I did a deep dive into all things door related. How can you get old buty, or whatever they used, adhesive off? 2. I am waiting for a front targa hook to show up soon. How tight should I adjust it to get the proper tension on the latch? I think my old one was too tight and that is why it cracked and needs replacing? 3. I have a proper set of red and black keys that work as they are supposed to now. I don't see myself ever having to go to a valet with this car, but if I did and they parked it out front because of how cool it is, what is a good solution for a key holder? If I put them both on the same chain, it is a pain to disconnect off the ring. Do I care? Any good solutions out there? *Bonus question, considering the biggest areas for storage are the front and rear trunks, why does the valet key only protect the glove box? What valuables are you going to have in there and not the front or rear trunk? Never really understood that. But hey, it was the 70's. |

Hmm, on my car it's the black (ignition) key that starts the car, and the red key unlocks the front and rear trunks and the glove box... Maybe somebody changed the locks once. That way you hand your ignition key to the valet but you keep the trunks key. Means you can safely store your Glock in the glove compartment. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) What i heard is that the red key is a Porsche key and the black key is a VW key... What I never understood is why they didn't put a lock on the engine lid release handle... |
