Been on the Anders site and found it is from a 74 2.0 ,lots of confusion from other sources like 73 and 74 including mention it will work with a 1.7 !!!! .
Numbers are ;
Bosch 0 280 000 044 ,
VW 039 906 021 .
Pretty sure I have a loom for it in my lockup also which I will test for broken loom wires and repair if required but seem to remember it was in real clean and not crusty and stiff .
Bought this way back from a reputable seller but TBO it was purchased a long time ago ,
Answers appreciated TIA .

I think a lot of the confusion on the 2.0 d-jet parts happen because the change over from the early 2.0s that uses the funky one year only CHT and the later 2.0 ECUs that use the more common CHT happened in 73 not 74. The early 2.0s used the 1.7 ECU however that stopped sometime in 73 and the remaining 73s got the same part as the 74 cars. So Anders site isn't technically 100% correct calling them 74 ECUs.
