Hey everyone! Soon I will have to get some pics for you all and share more details regarding my 6 conversion, but for now I had some questions for my specific example.
I have a 1970 914, so it came with the 1.7 of course. I am working on putting in a 2.7l from a 1974 911. It originally had CIS, but I am opting to switch over to carbs. The engine is complete with its factory harness and I am wondering what I will need to buy or do in order to get the engine correctly hooked up to what it needs to. Either direct connection to main harness or using the relay board as a way in joining connections. From what I understand I won't need half the stuff on the engine harness, or relay board and also the pins are all different. I am going with a 6AL box, carbs, high vol low pressure fuel pump. I would like to keep it as simple as possible or as cheap as possible, if you can have 1 with the other in this scenario. Please let me know what needs to be done! I tried searching around and found some stuff but nothing that really helped for my uses. Any links for business or guides would be appreciated, thank you! |

I removed the relay board in my brothers 6 conversion and installed an internal voltage reg alternator. It was super easy to do. I used an engine wire harness kit from Perry and a male 14 pin harness plug to make it all work. Here's the alt info. It's a new Valeo unit.
75 amp, internal reg, part # 432776 or 911 603 120 04. Some minor modifications are required on the rear alt air guide. There's plenty of online info on this mod. The factory even put out a bulletin on how to do it. |
