Proof the buyer spent too much at the wrong time, the market has topped and they are not willing or able to take a huge loss. This will pop up again but not make the recent price I think. One comment said they had 2 to 3 times into the car. That was a mistake that should only be made by someone that loves the car and has no intention of ever selling it. I think the owner passed away who owned the PMS Big Laguna build. Eric got a killer deal on it. I think that car was also close to a $200k build cost. @eric9144 Correct on mine, not sure @NARP74 was 'talking to me' with that comment but I will say that yes I got my PMS car for probably a 70% discount, right place right time PMS estimated ~$200-250k to replicate in todays money (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) To put some perspective on the open checkbook builds, mine was done circa ~2008 and I stopped adding up the receipts I was given at purchase when I was into the upper $140k range because I didn't want to know at that point--Didn't want to scare myself out of driving it. Now most of you wouldn't (and I wouldn't either)...but you can dump close to $100k -just into the motor/trans combo- if you do a 3.6 or bigger core + rebuild and get a 915 with either WEVO or Bott mod's to make it work. There was a 911 resto mod on BaT with a 3.8 RS build like the one in my car, done by a very reputable San Diego shop and the build sheet on that motor was north of $40k (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) $$ (IMG:style_emoticons/default/post-2-1117899824.gif) $$ adds up and FAST |
