So kind of at a crossroads right now with the 6. Have just had the pans restored to original configuration and do not want to add holes back to the floor. Want to use the normal seat base arrangement for driver and fixed seat for passenger as per original in 1970. I don't take passengers on the track but may title and street the car on occasion. I don't mind having two sets of seats per se (one street one track) but definitely do not want to add back side mount and drill holes in the floor again.
Any advice from this fine collection of 914 gurus? Attached thumbnail(s) |

6' 190 lbs 33" waist. Seats i have now sat a little high for my taste. Looks like sside mounts that go right to sliders? I had to mount a horizontal bar that mounts to the top of the sliders, then the seat brackets mount to the bar. For the drivers side, I mounted the seat brackets underneath the horz bar, the brackets sit just outside the main hump on the rails. seat rides lower, about an inch. I posted a sketch cross section of how i mounted them a while back, I can’t seem to find it now… I have short legs, but with a long torso, my helmet is about an inch from the felt. In my old car i removed the factory crossbrace, and mounted the same seats to the floor, height and position worked really well for me, but no forward/back adjustability. |
