So kind of at a crossroads right now with the 6. Have just had the pans restored to original configuration and do not want to add holes back to the floor. Want to use the normal seat base arrangement for driver and fixed seat for passenger as per original in 1970. I don't take passengers on the track but may title and street the car on occasion. I don't mind having two sets of seats per se (one street one track) but definitely do not want to add back side mount and drill holes in the floor again.
Any advice from this fine collection of 914 gurus? Attached thumbnail(s) |

I put a Corbeau race seat on the stock slider. Found I loss too much head room and had to remove the slider for that reason I’m sure a different seat or angle could be found |

Once upon a time. Many years ago…. I put a Corbeau race seat on the stock slider. Found I loss too much head room and had to remove the slider for that reason I’m sure a different seat or angle could be found I tried a stock seat (with bottom cushion removed), a "cheap" molded plastic race seat, and a fancier race seat. (Sorry for the lack of specifics, this was all many years ago.). But the only way I could get enough clearance between my helmet and the roof was an aluminum shell-style seat bolted to the floor. We had strict inspectors at the time, and it was hard to fake it. BTW, I am 6'2" tall, and at the time weighed about 200 lbs. |
