23 Years ago when I decided to replace the 4 cylinder in my 914 because it started making lots of noises it shouldn't have ...fast fwd about 6 years ago I decided to sell the Webers carbs that were on it. When I removed them to clean before i put them on eBay I noticed a nut missing and pulling apart the engine I found the NUT!!

8mm nut..cast piston.. in front of my house,,alloverthe street..owner,,I'll call AAA.
The Nut ended up in the muffler..

I was able to limp mine home about 3/4 of a mile .. I figured it couldn't hurt it more than it already had.

Prolly not. You can indeed remove and reinstall the CIS FI system from a 911 without pulling the engine. Just be sure to count the nuts coming off the intake manifold.

He has carbs ,,alternator replcement,, thought he found em all..
