Has anyone here built a 914 Type 4 using the LN Engineering 2563-190 kit?

OK, I’ll be the one to say it.. How about a Corvair big bore 3.0 Air cooled 6, easy and cheap compared to some of the other options.. @gandalf_025 Will that fit? Bolt up to the 901? I thought I read something about Porsche working with GM on that engine. Thought I also read how GM shorted Porsche over it and "semi-stole" it. "Big Corporation screwing over a little one" type of thing... It would be COOL if the bolt patterns and flywheel offsets are same/close! That IS another option that is overlooked too often. How is parts coverage? Performance stuff for it? Most of those had 90-degree belt drives... Doesn't look good for high RPM in my book. Is there a fix for that? That could easily be a 150-200hp air-cooled Porsche "inspired" 6 with KICK ASS torque! Ninja approved! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ninja.gif) |
