Picked up a 76 out of texas that had been converted to single carb that just doesn't run very well. I decided to convert back to original FI, essentially everything is gone and I am working on understanding the system. I guess my first question is where does the fuel pump draw power from? there is a single black wire underneath the fuel tank that has no power to it but all the relays have been removed and Im waiting on those from pelican

Post a photo of that oblong hole so we clearly understand? You are describing a significant vacuum leak that would elevate idle. Perhaps you can cover it temporarily on the outer TB surface such as with a small strip of duct tape or metal adhesive tape, then open up the idle screw on the TB to adjust the idle correctly.

I think he means the hole that is associated with the idle adjustment screw. if that hole is plugged, changing the position of the idle adjustment screw will have no effect. On my TB, screwing the idle adjustment screw all the way in still allows for some air from the top of the TB butterfly to pass through. |
