Good afternoon everyone,

And a Happy New Year to you all.

I have a 1975 ex California 914/4 which I am in the process of getting ready for the road. I have original Model 72 colour wiring diagrams which I have enlarged to make life easier.

My question, The diagram wiring for the coil, does not make sense to me compared to my own car. Needless to say a previous owner/garage has been messing about with it.

The diagram does not show any negative or positive but it appears on the diagram that terminals 1 & 4 (Number 1 green goes to the distributor/condenser) ( Number 4 black must be the H/T lead) So I am guessing number 1 must be negative terminal.

So am I right in thinking the black and purple wire on the negative number 1 goes to the tacho?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

For all the people in Southern California the rest of the world is thinking of you all.
