Morning gentleman, I spoke to soon. It’s a 71’914/6, threw it on here as a late night thought lol. We suspect it may be the last one built by Porsche, as in the last one from stuttgart. Vin is 9141430443, according to what we’ve been able to find it’s the last one in the registry for 71’ before going to the VW plant. Car was ordered willow green(43) L63E. The car since has been repainted to a chiffon-ish white and glass GT flares added.
Attached is the new spec sheet , porsche doesn’t offer COA’s unless inspected by a classic center:/ Background is the car was found in Japan after sitting for a quite sometime. No real idea why it was repainted but seems like a honest car so far, original interior, nice tub and floors. I’ll follow up with some pics once the rain passes. Thank you guys already for the responses, hopefully we can figure this out! Dan Attached thumbnail(s) |

VW never made any 914-6s to my knowledge. George Clay am I wrong? Did I forget something here? |

I am still not clear on this. We’re not all the bodies made at Karmen then shipped to Porsche for final assembly? VW never made any 914-6s to my knowledge. George Clay am I wrong? Did I forget something here? @dr914 George, correct me if I am wrong here. All 914-6 car bodies were built at Karmann, and shipped to the Porsche factory, including the 72 models. However, the 72 models got a 72 914-4 wiring harness, dash frame, and steering column. Then a small adapter harness was used to hook the 4 cylinder harness to the 914-6 relay board. And the 72 914-6 was not sold in the US. The suspension, engine, transmission, shift linkage, oil tank, lines, brakes and wheels were all Porsche factory six parts. This is probably the last six built with the 911 column and the key on the left, and the last one imported to the US. But I don't think it is the last factory six. |

That is my understanding as well the OP should correct that and it will help his case of selling it |
