It looks like AA Performance in Covina might have acquired the old GEX company that built air cooled engines. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think GEX had a great reputation. My question is, … can anybody confirm this acquisition and has there been any quality control upgrades on the engine building side of things?

@_stickykitty79_ Sooooo.....maybe you're the person that can confirm whether there is now a relationship between GEX and AA Performance? Can you give us any insight? The purpose of my thread wasn't to bash GEX, but more to see if AA had bought them and possibly brought some legitimacy to their old brand. I THINK AA Performance is a pretty well thought of organization? I realize you aren't paying $1000, but I'm seeing a range from around $4200-$7000 for a 914 engine....which seems very reasonable given the cost of parts these days.....if they are reliable, well-built engines.
