Picked up a pair of 914-6 flapper valves today that were mounting on some very good heat exchangers today. There is no rust and no sign they ever saw use on an engine.
Dansk new 914 flappers are about $140 each. They will be offered for sale along with the exchangers once I determine a fair value. The exchangers have little metal missing around the pipes. pipes have coon deep rust pits but exhaust flanges are serviceable. Do no have pictures of them yet. Pictures to be uploaded shortly. I have compared four vs six flapper valves. Besides the hole there is a slight difference in the volume of the chamber under the cap. Not sure why
I have been running four flappers with a hole that replicates the six hole for many years now. No discernible problems |
