Does anyone have any experience with this heated windshield solution from the UK?
https://www.heatedwindscreen.com/products/p...lear-windscreen I have a GT clone with no heat or ventilation. It does have heated seats, and I would love a heated windshield for foggy morning drives. Yes, I know I can add back heat and/or ventilation, but I'm running headers going back to the stock set up would be both expensive and weighty. Perhaps someone has imported one or a UK member can weigh in on the performance of this windscreen. |

Hello Morehills, My '82 911SC came with a factory heated windscreen. The bottom 6 inches (approximately) of the windshield has very fine filament type wire running horizontally from side to side. The wire cannot be seen unless you look at the windshield from a particular angle. It does not affect vision at all. The heating element is activated by one of the pull switches on the dash. I have not used the feature recently, but as I recall, it worked pretty good. Similar to heated rear windows. That seems like a good, cheap option. Shipping that glass is gonna be expensive. I believe you can purchase those type heating elements with an adhesive backing. I've also wondered about the small box heating units like they sell on amazon ... but they use about 800w of power, so you'd need a huge Alternator I guess. Is there an Alternator option that would work - you tell me? : https://www.amazon.com/Riloer-Windshield-De...B0CGC72BJD?th=1 |
