Well here is what i have so far. I am curious what you think, polite or otherwise. We are all polite here so I have no worries. The horn works and the thing isn't likely to fall off into my lap honking like a madman.

My son says "You know it isn't exactly a Bentley or an E type, they used a lot of plastic on the 914". True. Here are some samples on the car. -I am not affiliated with Porsche, VW or Bentley.-

Maybe a bit smaller crest. This one is a bit smaller than a hood crest. The aluminum keeps stuff out of the area and stabilizes the wood, but I might try anodizing it. Black is the hardest for me; sometimes turns out sorta purple.
