OK, once more with feeling….
This is the 74 that had the misrouted accelerator cable. That has been removed so now I have what I believe is the original accelerator cable, the arrow is pointing at it, which is good in stock in the tunnel. Even with vice grips on it, I can’t pull it out and it doesn’t really wanna move forward either. I’m going to have to remove this before I install replacement cable so any ideas or suggestions? ![]() |

Any chance the replacement cables have larger fittings?

Any chance the replacement cables have larger fittings? You already posted a picture of it in the tube hitting some obstruction so you know it fits. The rest is a question of what is in the tube or why it’s not straight enough to allow the cable fitting to pass. Focus on why your tube is not allowing the cable to pass: 1) tube kinked at firewall and doesn’t go straight long enough 2) residual plastic sleeve stuck in the tube 3) rust bump or brazing debris as deformed the interior of the tube 4) tube can be inspected from inside the tunnel via access panel at rear of tunnel You’ve been vague about what you’ve tried and what’s going on. Drill should be the last resort once you are sure the tube is straight. If you break a drill off in the tube there is a whole new level of being screwed. |
