The engine cooling fan on the motor that came with my car has several broken fins/blades. Looking for a replacement i can only seem to find used part? Does no one produce oem style or aftermarket replacements for this? Is used my only option?

Sorry if this has been covered. Did not find anything in the search.

No blades is a good way to get no cooling for your heads

Probably ok if you rebuild the motor every weekend

Or if you have a VERY VERY LARGE duct (I dubbed it a "sewer pipe") feeding cold air directly from the headlight buckets straight through the car to the fan inlet. Quite a few 914-4 racers used to do that, to take advantage of a rule written for the LBCs (Little British Cars) that allowed cooling air to be ducted in from the headlight buckets.

IIRC, the cars that ran that way would rebuild about once per season. Assuming they didn't have to spend any real time at a stop or at very low speeds.

I'm guessing SCCA Club racers still had some fandage going on. After all, Ginther had Porsche money, club racers do not...Chris Foley would know, I think he came up with that idea back in the 90s. His F Production race car (still for sale) has it. - GA
